orthotics and bracing
Steve MacNeil, MSc.
Steve graduated from the undergraduate kinesiology program
from University of Ottawa in 1994 and went on to complete
his master degree in Biomechanics at Queen's University in
1997.
He has over 10 years of experience consulting in orthopaedic
bracing and custom foot orthotics. Currently, Steve provides
his services to the clients of the OHPC and the Ottawa
Senators of the National Hockey League.
Through the OHPC, Steve offers a wide variety of orthopaedic
services ranging from off-the-shelf soft goods to custom
made braces and orthotics. Custom orthotics are used to
correct biomechanical dysfunctions contributing to chronic
foot, ankle, knee, hip and back conditions and can be a key
component to successful rehabilitation. Our orthotics are
constructed from plaster molds by Ares Orthotics. All
modifications are completed here in Ottawa to guarantee your
satisfaction.
Custom knee braces provide support and protection for pre
and post-operative ACL injuries as well as for the
management of osteoarthritis. The soft goods available
through the OHPC include products for the wrist, ankle,
foot, knee and shoulder. Other specific products may be
ordered on an as needed basis.
Steve will work in conjunction with your doctor and
therapist to ensure that you will be able to return to your
desired activity or sport as quickly and as safely as
possible.
